Round Rock ISD has completed the environmental study for Middle School No. 11 and will present a construction bid to the district’s Board of Trustees at its Nov. 19, 2015 meeting.

An environmental study was recently completed to determine if the construction would inhibit any salamander habitats, which have been identified just south of the SH 45 Tollway, said Tim Strucely, director of construction.

“The outcome of the study was positive and required little modification to our stormwater management plan,” Strucely said. “We have performed more than the normal amount of test borings on the site to determine if we have cave features and have found none to date.”

Middle School No. 11 was approved in the 2014 Bond, totaling a combined $49,833,032. The school will be built in the Parmer Lane corridor near England Elementary School, and will relieve Walsh Middle School from over enrollment.

The school is scheduled to be open for classes in August 2017.
