Round Rock ISD will utilize processes and procedures for public comments during its Board meetings to collect community input at its three public hearings, starting 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Cedar Valley Middle School, 8139 Racine Trail in Austin.
Public comments will be allowed for those who sign up to speak by 7:30 p.m. The District will allot 3 minutes for individuals to address the group and 5 minutes for anyone representing a group.
The meeting will start with a video overviewing the attendance area proposal, including the recommendation from the September 15, 2016, regular Board meeting to only consider changes to Chisholm Trail, Cedar Valley, and Walsh middle school to relieve overcrowding and to align middle schools for Joe Lee Johnson STEAM and Wells Branch Arts Integration academies to Chisholm Trail and Deerpark, respectively.
Public comments will be recorded on video for documentation as the District prepares its final report and recommendation for the October 20, 2016 Board meeting.
The Board will vote on the attendance area changes for middle school on November 17, 2016, for the opening of Pearson Ranch Middle School in August 2017.
The remaining public hearings will be on September 28 and 29, 7:30 p.m. in the cafeterias of Chisholm Trail and Walsh middle schools.
