Round Rock ISD has named Krista Kuwamura the new principal of Callison Elementary School.

Kuwamura has worked in Round Rock ISD for nine years, most recently serving as the assistant principal at Callison and Caldwell Heights elementary schools. Kuwamura was previously a Team Leader for fourth, third and second grade at Cactus Ranch Elementary School. She has worked a total of 12 years in education.

“Mrs. Kuwamura is an excellent leader with passion for education and student success,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “Her positive rapport with students and the community, along with her knowledge of Callison Elementary School will propel the campus further along the path of academic excellence.”

A graduate of Texas State University, she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Education.

“I am absolutely thrilled to serve the Callison community as principal and will continue to strive for the academic excellence our campus has worked tirelessly to achieve,” Kuwamura said. “As we prepare for the new school year, we will continue to value, build and maintain our relationships with our community and support our students so they may find success inside and outside the classroom.”

Callison is located at 1750 Thompson Trail in Round Rock and serves 574 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
