Round Rock ISD Board Vice President Pauline Law will not seek re-election.

Law, who has served in Place 7 on the Board since 2012, will focus on her newly appointed position at a global provider of language services, her family, and her higher education pursuit.

“We are on the cusp of greatness as a District,” Law said. “My challenge to our Board as I finish my term and to future Trustees is to make Round Rock ISD the Destination District by staying the course and continuing to align with the Strategic Plan. Our kids deserve it. Our families expect it. Leaders who do what’s right for students will make it happen.”

Law served in leadership roles for several key initiatives during her tenure, including the Strategic Plan Design Team, the implementation of an Early College High School, the selection of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores, the expansion of dyslexia services to support various learning styles, and the creation of a national model for instructional technology with NextGen Classrooms.

“The job of a Trustee is to lead and keep the needs of students at the core of all decision making,” Dr. Flores said. “During our time working together, Pauline Law has exemplified a passion for students and purposeful design and implementation of innovation into schools.”

Law is currently serving her second term as Vice President on the Board. In addition to her leadership role, she presented at state and national education conferences and represented the Board in community and partnership groups, including the Partners in Education Foundation.

The first day to file for November 8, 2016, election was July 22. The deadline to register for election ballot is August 22. The two additional seats open for election are places 1 and 2, currently held by Trustees Nikki Gonzales and Charles “Chad” Chadwell.
