Round Rock ISD has named Dr. Brenda Agnew as the new principal of Walsh Middle School.
Agnew most recently served as the principal of Wallace Middle School in Hays CISD and has 25 years of experience in education. Agnew has previously worked within Round Rock ISD, including six years as a teacher, coach and assistant principal of McNeil High School and five years as an assistant principal at Canyon Vista Middle School.
“I’m am very excited to receive the opportunity to get back to Round Rock ISD and work at Walsh,” Agnew said. “Walsh has a fabulous reputation and I can’t wait to work with the students, staff and community.”
Agnew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Concordia University and continued her education at Texas State University where she earned a Master’s of Education and Ph.D in School Improvement.
“Dr. Agnew has already served thousands of Round Rock ISD students and we are eager to welcome her back as she prepares to lead Walsh,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “I am confident Dr. Agnew will bring a unique perspective and drive for success for both students and staff at Walsh. I look forward to the school’s continued success.”
Walsh is located at 3850 Walsh Ranch Boulevard in Round Rock and features an enrollment of 1,584 students and 119 staff members.
