The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a district wide 2 percent pay increase for the 2016-2017 school year at its May 19 regular meeting.

“Our teachers deserve competitive compensation for the outstanding work that occurs daily in our classrooms and district facilities,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “I am appreciative that our Board recognizes the dedication of staff throughout Round Rock ISD by funding 2 percent raises.”

The salary increase will cost Round Rock ISD $5.9 million. The last districtwide salary increase was approved last year as a 2 percent raise, costing Round Rock ISD $4.79 million.

The new salary increases are as follows:

Teachers, Librarians, Registered Nurses

  • Increase starting salary to $44,500 and
  • Eligible employees will receive a $1,040 general pay increase.

Counselors

  • Increase starting salary to $49,400 and
  • Eligible employees will receive a $1,200 general pay increase.

Instructional and Business/Operations Exempt Employees

  • Implement pay grades 501-513 and 601-609 per TASB pay system review, and
  • Eligible employees will receive an increase equal to 2 percent of pay range midpoint.

Pay Grades 201-211 (Administrative & Instructional Support), 301-313 (Operations Support), and 401-409 (Technology)

  • Increase pay range minimum, midpoint, and maximum by 1 percent.
  • Eligible employees will receive an increase equal to 2 percent of the pay range midpoint.
