Teravista Elementary School Fifth-Grade Teacher Stephanie Stoebe was named 2017 Round Rock ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year at the district’s annual banquet Monday evening, sponsored by the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation.

Stoebe has been an educator for nine years, two of which have been at Teravista. Stoebe was selected out of 33 elementary school teachers to represent Round Rock ISD in the regional Teacher of the Year competition.

“It’s really humbling because there are so many great teachers in Round Rock ISD,” Stoebe said. “I accept this honor for all of the elementary schools teachers here in Round Rock.”

Stoebe was the 2012 Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year and the 2014 Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Following the banquet, Teravista Principal Michael Wakefield said Stoebe’s first email was to share the news with her students who have been anticipating the announcement.

“Stephanie puts everything she has into the kids and she deserves everything she gets,” Wakefield said. “It’s just amazing to see how much she does with the students. It’s not everyday that teachers are recognized for all they do, but she works hard and loves her kids.”
