The sixth annual Battle of the Bluebonnets challenged teams of five students from 31 Round Rock ISD elementary schools to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of books they read throughout the year.

The Caraway team, which consisted of Sabrina Kim, Zachary Hobbs, Greyson Letendre, Hannah Ashtari and Claire Petiprin, took home a the winning trophy and were each awarded a 2016 Junior Sluggers Kids Club Membership, which includes 16 tickets to Round Rock Express games and a t-shirt.

“We are very proud of our students and librarian for their hard-work and performance during the Battle of the Bluebonnets competition,” Caraway Principal Katrina Bailey said. “The students who competed on the team read all twenty books 2-3 times. It is a part the Caraway culture to develop the love of reading in our students and the Battle of Bluebonnets allows us to do just that.”
