The University Interscholastic League (UIL) unveiled its biennial realignment Feb. 1, decreasing the 6A District 13, featuring all five Round Rock ISD high schools, to seven schools for football and basketball.

District 13 now consists of Round Rock ISD — Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point and Westwood — Pflugerville High School and Hendrickson High School. The district previously included Rouse High School, who dropped to 5A due to enrollment.

“With the shift in District 13, we are eager to begin working to complete our schedules,” Round Rock ISD Athletic Director Dwayne Weirich said. “We are excited to continue the tradition of friendly competition between all Round Rock ISD high schools and our peers in Pflugerville.”

UIL sets realigns the districts every two years. The realignment will take place starting in August 2016.
