Round Rock ISD has completed its Hazardous Routes public hearings. Based on further research into the Transportation Department’s initial recommendations, it will be removing six of the 10 routes from its recommendation.
The Transportation Department will be recommending removal of bus services for:
- Robinson Park Subdivision to Live Oak Elementary School;
- Sendero Springs to Cactus Ranch Elementary School; and
- Las Brisas Apartments to Caldwell Heights Elementary School and Hopewell Middle School.
The Transportation Department will continue to list routes on A.W. Grimes serving Double File, Hernandez and Stony Point as hazardous. After conducting further research as to the history of those routes and receiving clarification regarding new safety features on those walking routes, it was determined that these routes still meet the qualifications as a hazard.
The Transportation team will continue to collect feedback regarding the four routes listed above and will present that as part of a March 24, 2016 report.
