Round Rock ISD is seeking public input for the name of elementary school No. 34.

Name nominations will be accepted until Oct. 2, 2015.

Elementary School No. 34 will be located at 2800 Sauls Drive, Austin. It was approved in the 2014 bond and is expected to be open by the fall of 2016.

Per Board of Trustees policy, new school facilities may be named for any individual who is deceased and who has historical significance for the community, state or nation. The location of a new school facility may be recommended as a name.

A committee consisting of seven citizens — one selected by each Board member, one board member appointed by the board presidents, and one administrator appointed by the Superintendent — will begin meeting Oct. 13. Further committee meetings will occur Oct. 20 and Oct. 27.

The Board of Trustees will meet Nov. 19 to discuss the committee recommendation. The Board are expected to take action on name elementary school No. 34 on Dec. 17.
