Round Rock ISD Trustees have approved the appointment of a new principal for Callison Elementary School.
Dr. John Weishaar has 29 years of experience as a campus administrator working at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most recently, he was the principal of Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dr. Weishaar also served as the executive director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in Falcon, Colorado. Prior to moving to Colorado, he served as the principal at Cedar Valley Middle School in Round Rock ISD. Under his leadership, Cedar Valley reached the Recognized level in state accountability. From 1999-2002 he served as an assistant principal at Westwood High School. In addition, Dr. Weishaar has 10 years of teaching experience.
He is known as a strong builder of campus culture by developing relationships with all stakeholders. He sets high expectations for staff, students and himself while building leadership and instructional capacity within his team. He has strong communication and interpersonal skills and maintains a positive and energetic leadership style.
Dr. Weishaar earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Stephen F. Austin University, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Emporia State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
