Round Rock ISD Education and Training students advance to state competition

After successfully competing at the regional Texas Association of Future Educators conference, 18 Education and Training students from Round Rock, Stony Point, and Westwood high schools advance to the state competition. Education and Training is a Round Rock ISD career and technical education program of study that prepares students for a career in education and teaching.

Westwood High School Competitive Drone Team Nabs Exemplary Team Award

The Westwood High School drone team received the exemplary team award and finished second place overall at the Austin Region Bell Vertical Robotics Competition. Westwood High School drone aviation instructor, Karina Kinsey, leads the students who compete as the Octawarriors.

Stony Point High School Floral Design Program

At Stony Point High School seniors in the floral design CTE program run their final class like a business. They order the flowers, keep the books, make the floral arrangements and even deliver to some locations in the District.

Ranger ACE Construction Camp

Middle school and high school students from across the district took part in the ACE Ranger construction camp in July. They got to sample all the ins and outs of the construction industry all while giving back to the community and building a new outdoor basketball court for Robertson Elementary.

Auto-tech Practicum: McNeil High School

McNeil High School has partnered with Austin Infiniti offering auto-tech seniors real hands-on experience in a working auto shop. According to McNeil High School Auto-tech instructor Ryan Arnold this is just the beginning of the future for the McNeil Auto-tech program.

February is Career & Technical Education Month

Round Rock ISD salutes career and technical education in our schools during Career & Technical Education Month. Career & Technical Education (CTE) serves over 12,000 Round Rock ISD students in high school and middle school, offering more than 100-course offerings.

Mica named Superintendent’s RROCK STAR for September

Recognizing the decades of work that Peggy Mica, Round Rock ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator, has done to better the opportunities for students across the District, Senior Chief of Schools and Innovation Dr. Daniel Presley named Mica the Superintendent’s RRock Star for September 2019.
