Back to School Celebration

With the help of volunteers and community partners, Round Rock ISD kicked off the new school year in a big way. Nearly 8,000 community members came out for health screenings, including hearing exams and vaccinations, family fun, and even finger-nail painting from the Round Rock ISD police officers.

United Way for Greater Austin Awards Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation $30,000

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation was awarded $30,000 to support mental health for students and staff over the summer months by United Way of Greater Austin. The District’s social workers provide vital services to students during the regular academic year, however, there has not been funding to provide these services during the summer months when students are in summer school.

Round Rock ISD receives Navigate 360 Award

Navigate 360 is a cloud-based platform that allows campuses, administrators, and the Behavioral Health department to quickly get students the help they need when it comes to behavior and mental challenges students can face.

Rose White named Assistant Chief of Police

Rose White has been selected as the Round Rock ISD Assistant Chief of Police. White has nearly 30 years of experience serving in various law enforcement roles, 20 of which were in a public school setting. She recently served as the Police Captain for The School District of Palm Beach County, Florida, the tenth largest school district in the nation.

More than 5,000 Attend the Round Rock ISD Back to School Celebration

Round Rock ISD celebrated its annual Back to School Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 6, with more than 5,000 students and families who filled the Stony Point High School campus to kick off the new school year. Round Rock ISD celebrated its annual Back to School Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 6, with more than 5,000 students and families who filled the Stony Point High School campus to kick off the new school year.

The event, sponsored by the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation and Texas Children’s Hospital provided students with the opportunity to receive free vaccinations, eye exams, hearing exams and entertainment throughout the day.

Behavioral Therapy Dogs providing support to students and staff

Behavioral Therapy Dogs help students with anxiety and stress. They can be brought in to de-escalate a situation and provide a calming effect for students. And when the dogs are not busy on the job they can be found visiting the schools and getting petted by all students and staff.

Grisham Student Gets New Bike After Accident

A day that began with shock and fear for Grisham Middle School student Ivor Stewart McChesney ended with happiness and a brand new bike thanks in part to the quick response of the Round Rock ISD Police Department.
