Board of Trustees amend academic calendar, approve to change high school early release days to full instructional days

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved amending the 2020-2021 academic calendar to change the high school early release days scheduled at the end of each semester to full instructional days during their Regular Meeting in October. The adjustment was made to meet state requirements for in-person instructional minutes due to changes related to COVID-19.

High schools schedule 2020 SAT/ACT test dates

Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point, and Westwood high schools have SAT testing dates scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, and Dec. 5. The ACT exam is Saturday, Dec. 12, at McNeil and Round Rock high schools. Students can register for and participate in the exam at any location, regardless of the campus they attend school. Walk-ups cannot be accommodated or admitted.

Keeping Schools COVID-19 Free: Student Face Mask Expectations

All students* in Pre-K through grade 12 ARE REQUIRED to wear a mask over their nose and mouth (no valves/vented masks) on buses, other District vehicles, inside school buildings, and anywhere on school grounds, including outside. Face masks must be properly worn, covering the student’s mouth and nose. The use of neck gaiters as a face covering is discouraged.

Summer strength training for Round Rock ISD athletes to begin June 8

In accordance with recently released guidelines from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Round Rock ISD will allow students on a voluntary basis to participate in summer strength and conditioning programs at the District’s five comprehensive high school campuses beginning Monday, June 8 and continuing through July 31.

Six Round Rock ISD campuses named Project Lead The Way Distinguished Schools

Six Round Rock ISD campuses were named Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished Schools for the 2019 – 2020 school year.  Campuses that received this recognition include Joe Lee Johnson and Fern Bluff elementary schools and Stony Point, Westwood, Round Rock and McNeil high schools. This year, only 21 elementary schools and 14 high schools received this distinction in the state of Texas. Round Rock ISD had the only campuses in Central Texas to earn this distinction.
