Exploring with digital microscopes

Thanks to a grant from the PIE Foundation, Voigt Elementary is exploring the world of tiny objects with the help of digital microscopes. Students are collecting items from outside and putting them under microscopes to see just how detailed the world can be.

Voigt second-graders art and math integration works hang in Washington D.C. museum

Intersecting visual art and math, Voigt second-graders learned about the area of a rectangle and created original works of faux stained glass. Students progressed in understanding a rectangle, the sides of a rectangle, and then the inside of a rectangle, the area. Using cellophane, they explored tangrams, measured the area, divided it into equal parts or square units, and used their materials as tangram pieces to construct an image like stained glass.

Elementary Art Exhibition

For 27 years, the Round Rock ISD Fine Arts Department has put elementary school students’ finest artwork on public display. This year the exhibition is at the Raymond E. Hartfield Performing Art Center for all to see.

Families, students, and staff asked to complete 2022 campus survey

From Monday, Feb. 21 through Friday, Feb. 25, the primary parent/guardian on file, students, and staff will receive an email from Round Rock ISD to link to your school’s 2022 survey. The survey is mobile-friendly and short. It can take less than five minutes to complete.

Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 begins March 7

Online registration for Round Rock ISD families to enroll kindergarteners for the 2022-2023 school year opens on Monday, March 7. Round Rock ISD has 35 top-rated elementary schools that educate, support, and serve Central Texas students in Round Rock, portions of Cedar Park, and the City of Austin.

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation Awards $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants

Educators from across Round Rock ISD campuses and departments were selected to receive $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants from the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. The Excellence in Education Grants provides resources for educators to execute innovative ideas, programs, materials, equipment, field trips, and various other needs that enhance student learning. All Round Rock ISD students are impacted by the grants in some capacity.

Board of Trustees launches survey for input on superintendent search

The Round Rock Independent School District Board of Trustees is moving forward in its search to identify the District’s next Superintendent of Schools. Round Rock ISD and the Board of Trustees are committed to a transparent process as we search for the District’s next leader. An essential part of the process is obtaining  feedback from everyone in the community.

Mask requirement to remain in place for Round Rock ISD schools

This afternoon, Gov. Greg Abbott announced lifting the mask mandate in Texas in an Executive Order. However, as part of our efforts to keep staff and students safe and keep our schools open, Round Rock ISD has no plans to change the mask requirement in schools and facilities at this time.
