Round Rock ISD invites the community to have an important conversation about the District’s projected budget and what challenges and factors are being considered in the final budget proposal for the upcoming school year.

The Virtual Budget Informational Sessions will be held on April 24 and May 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

“The unfortunate reality is that Round Rock ISD, along with school districts across the state, are having to make difficult decisions regarding budgets for the upcoming school year,” Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez said. “While we are fortunate enough to not have to consider terminating staff members, other strong strategies will be implemented to support a balanced budget. This directly results from certain federal funding programs being discontinued, rising operations costs, recapture, in which Round Rock ISD will contribute over $100 million this year, and expected legislative decisions regarding school funding. I encourage our community to join us during these sessions to learn more about this critical issue impacting our schools and to contact their legislators to voice their support of increasing funding for public education.”

Information on the budget process, challenges, considerations, and what decisions the community could expect will be shared. Those attending the live virtual session will also have the opportunity to ask questions using the Q&A feature on Zoom. Community members who cannot attend and wish to submit their questions may do so before the event through the Budget Informational Session Question Form.

Community members must register online before the event. Due to platform restrictions, registration is limited to the first 1,000 individuals to sign up, so admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who successfully register will receive an emailed event reminder 24 hours before the Town Hall.

A meeting recording will be available on the District’s website after the event.
