Update: The Boil Water Notice announced by the City of Austin has been lifted and campus operations for the previously impacted schools have returned to normal

The City of Austin has announced a Boil Water Notice for all residents. As a number of Round Rock ISD schools are located in the City of Austin and/or utilize the city’s water system, District staff has been working through the weekend to ensure all students and staff members at affected campuses have access to clean drinking water and the resources needed to continue the instructional day as uninterrupted as possible.

Bottled water and water stations will be provided to all affected campuses. To conserve as much as possible, it would be helpful if parents could send students with refillable water bottles, filled with either bottled water or tap water that has been boiled for at least three minutes. Staff should also bring refillable water bottles if possible.

Cafeterias have adjusted their menus to minimize the need for water and have clean, boiled water available when necessary.

The Boil Water Notice is a precautionary measure due to one of Austin Water’s treatment plants being temporarily out of service. For more information, please visit Austin Water’s website.
