A total of 70 Round Rock ISD students have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Westwood High School, with 44 semifinalists, led the District in total semifinalists.

Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation selects the highest achieving students for its program. Approximately 16,000 students were selected as semifinalists among 1.5 million students nationwide who completed the Preliminary SAT and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, according to the organization.
