Dear Round Rock ISD Family,

We have had an outstanding year as a Round Rock ISD community, and I truly believe what makes us stronger is our collective drive to do what is best for our students.

Our recent Bond election brought passionate opinions both in favor and in opposition. I’d like to thank the 17,170 members of our community who came out to vote. That number represents an increased interest over prior years. As we move forward, we will engage, listen, and learn more about your priorities and hopes for all students in Round Rock ISD.

POSSIBLE FUTURE BOND ELECTIONS

Our Board of Trustees will host workshops to discuss potential timelines for a future Bond election. Also, we will be launching a community outreach program this month as we evaluate refreshing the Strategic Plan and timelines for a possible election in November 2017, May 2018, or November 2018.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

As we launch our community outreach efforts, I encourage all members of our community to stay active in our District’s planning. Two upcoming opportunities include a community survey and community meetings to start a dialogue about how we can better serve all students and plan for the future of our schools. This feedback will allow our Board to make the best decisions moving forward.

Please help us in our first step by completing our survey by June 10, 2017.

Coming together as one family, we can all be champions for our kids. We want to hear from you to help make our next Bond Election a successful one. Thank you for all that you do to make Round Rock ISD the Destination District for Public Schools. As your Superintendent, I look forward to working with you to serve every student in our schools, while maintaining our legacy of high-quality instruction and sound fiscal management.

Respectfully,

Steve Flores, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
