The Round Rock ISD Purchasing Department has been recognized by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) as the recipient of the Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations.

Round Rock ISD Purchasing Department members received the award on Feb. 28 at the annual TASBO Conference in Austin. The department also received the Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations in 2016.

“Jamie, Angie and the entire Purchasing Department are outstanding leaders who ensure the District complies with purchasing laws while helping to procure the necessary goods and services our students and staff need for a world class education,” Chief Financial Officer Randy Staats said. “We are proud to receive this award due to their hard work and continual contributions toward excellence.”

The department also received the Elite Status for large districts, given to the school district that scored the highest points of all district applicants in that category. The award recognizes school districts that are committed to high professional standards and best practices in the purchasing of goods and services.

Jamie Spiegel is the Director of Purchasing and Materials Management and Angie Marsh is the Purchasing Manager. Purchasing buyers and specialists are Kim Chappius, Ellissa Slape, Danny Poolman, Craig Randall, Donna Colburn, Brenda Roque, Denisa Page and Annette Landry.
