The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees has appointed Edward L. Hanna as the new Trustee for Place 4 during a Board Workshop on Feb. 15.

Hanna, the Vice President of BBVA Compass Bank, currently serves the Round Rock community as the the 2017 Chair of the Talent Development for the Round Rock Chamber. He has served as the Citizen’s Bond Committee (CBC) Finance Committee Chair in 2017 and was a member of the 2014 Bond Oversight Committee. He is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Round Rock ISD.

“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for the opportunity to serve the students, staff and parents of Round Rock ISD,” Hanna said. “I hope to share my passion for education and help the families of our community during my service. I thank everyone for their support and look forward to serving as a Trustee.”

To solidify his appointment to the Board of Trustees, Hanna was officially sworn in as a Board member during the workshop and immediately began duties as a Trustee.

“Edward Hanna brings immense knowledge, passion and dedication to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees,” Board President Diane Cox said. “We are excited to welcome him as a Board member and align our efforts to further reach our goals as a District and on behalf of our students.”

Hanna was selected after an interview and application process that took place from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13. The process was called on Feb. 9 after Trustees selected to go through the appointment process rather than hold an Election in May.

The replacement follows the resignation of Trustee Terri Romere, who served two terms on the board.
