Round Rock ISD voters have selected Mason Moses to serve in Place 7 of the Board of Trustees, according to unofficial election results from Travis and Williamson counties. Incumbent trustees Charles “Chad” Chadwell and Nikki Gonzales ran unopposed for Place 1 and Place 2, respectively.

Moses earned 53 percent of the vote over Tony Pitts. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

“Serving on the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees is an honor and privilege and we are proud to welcome Mason Moses to the Board,” Board President Paul J. Tisch said. “It is an exciting time to be a leader in Round Rock ISD as we drive innovative educational opportunities and continue to evaluate facility and capital renewal needs through a bond study and continue aligning with our Strategic Plan.”

The Board will canvass the election returns later this month when final results are received by the county election offices. The swearing in ceremony will occur in December.

Moses, an investment associate at TCG Advisors, also serves on the District’s Bond Oversight Committee and is the parent of students within Round Rock ISD.

“The dedication and passion needed to run for office advocating for our schools should be commended, no matter the outcome,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “I am proud and eager to begin work with trustees Chadwell, Gonzales and the newly elected Mason Moses to build the Destination District for Public Schools. I would also like to thank Board Vice President Law for her years of service for our students, staff and community.”

All elected Trustees will serve four-year terms.

The seven members of the Board of Trustees are each elected at-large. Trustees meet regularly on the third Thursday of each month at the Round Rock High School Lecture Hall, 300 Lake Creek Drive in Round Rock, as well as additional called workshop meetings as needed.
