Westwood High School senior Ethan Twining has thrived throughout his time in high school and strives to prioritize and focus on leadership opportunities and time-management skills.

Twining has been a captain on the Westwood football team for two years and also serves as the campus’ National Honor Society Secretary and the president of PROS, a peer mentoring program.

“There will always be leaders, whether it’s in college or the workplace, so I’m trying to get experience as early as I can,” Ethan said. “At the end of the day, playing football with your best friends is the most fun thing you can do. Taking a leadership position is just added growth from the experience.”

Twining is a forward-thinking senior at Westwood and continuously challenges himself to learn, both in and out of school. Beginning in his junior year, Twining began trading stocks and learning how the stock market works in low-risk experiences.

“I’m still learning,” Ethan said. “It’s something I’ve started doing to get experience managing my personal finances while still in high school.”

Twining plans to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in business, then attend law school to become an attorney. As he continues to build leadership and academic skills for the future, Westwood Football Coach Anthony Wood believes Twining has a bright future.

“There is nothing he cannot do,” Wood said. “He is the true meaning of a student athlete and the one you want leading your team or Fortune 500 company.”
